GRAFFICA OFFERS INLINE WITH PRINT
Local supplier Graffica is now providing entire inline post-press solutions for folding carton, including a Wonderjet digital print system.
For the past five years, the company has been supplying post press lines with a pre feeder, die cutter with stripping, breakers, inspection unit, linking to an auto-set folder gluer with strapped finished boxes. However, Neil Southerington, managing director of Graffica said, “What was missing for us to be able to offer a full post press range was a digital printer, this is now in place, with Wonderjet, which has been used to print boxes since 2011.”
Southerington saw the line in action at the Sino Corrugate show. He said, “At the show, the company demonstrated its UV and water-based printers, with in-line slotting, producing printed slotted boxes ready for gluing. However, this could have had in-line glue, or rotary or flatbed die cutting.”
According to Southerington the local situation of skilled labour shortages and relatively high wage costs means in-line production “makes good sense”.
