Australian print and packaging systems developer Trimatt had the multi-award winning Colour Star AQ-V on the stand and sold one on the first morning of the show to a print business looking to enter the packaging market.

Trimatt owner Matt Johnson was busy showing print businesses how they can address differing markets with Colour Star, especially packaging, and including traditional commercial markets such as envelope printing and booklet covers.

John said, “Print business owners and managers are coming onto the stand and seeing applications in their business that are that they didn't think were possible. Having the machinery here has definitely opened up a lot of eyes, especially as it can print on a range of different packaging materials for the food and beverage sector.”

One of those packaging application is multi wall paper sacks. Johnson said, “As we know, Australia is quite vibrant in the powdered products. So we're talking flours, starches, various types of grains. There's there's multinationals in Australia that are all packaging and exporting and distributed locally. We're actually tapping into that multiware bag market. A lot of businesses are still placing labels under bags, but labels don't stay on the bag, and labels don't look anywhere near as attractive as a vibrant color print. And people are learning that we have a capable system for printing directly, the Colour Star AQ.

Johnson said interest had been high, and in fact, he sold one off the stand on the first morning of the show.
