Bacci joins as Mutoh looks to grow the brand, which has enjoyed success since managing director Russell Cavenagh stepped in seven years ago.

Cavenagh said, “I am pleased Romano Bacci has elected to join our growing team at Mutoh Australia in the role of general manager. He brings 20 years of wide format product logistics, marketing and channel management experience, and he will be instrumental in assisting our next stage of growth for the Mutoh brand.”

Bacci said, “I have known Russell for many years, and I’ve been impressed with the stability and growth that he has brought to the brand in the ANZ market. I see this move as an exciting opportunity to use my industry knowledge and experience to continue driving the business forward and take it to the next level of success.

“Having spent many years with a premium brand, it was important to me that I continue my career with another, and Mutoh fits that bill perfectly. Known for premium quality, it remains the only one of the big brands to continue all printer manufacturing in Japan”.

Mutoh manufactures a wide and growing range of sign, display, promotional products and merchandising print equipment. Its new HydrAton 1642, which uses the innovative Fujifilm Aquafuze ink, has just won the 2025 European Digital Press (EPD) Association Award for Best Roll-to-Roll Printer Under 170cm Wide.

The award was given to HydrAton 1642 in recognition of its “innovative water-based technology”, which the EDP citation said is “versatile, compatible with both plastic and paper roll media, and capable of printing on heat-sensitive substrates”, and for its ability to “reduce energy consumption while delivering vivid colours."

Last year, Mutoh also won an EDP Award, for its 1420mm x 700mm table-sized flatbed UV-LED printer, XpertJet 1462UF.
