CURRIE TO BRING DIGITAL GLUING TO ANZ

Comments Comments

Currie Group will supply and service the F Service Automation range of digital glue plotters into Australia and New Zealand, with the agreement made, signed and sealed at drupa.

F Service Automation is based in Tuscany, Italy, and manufactures a range of digital gluer plotters for applications in POP and packaging.

Paul Whitehead, business unit manager ANZ, sign and display at Currie Group, said, “Digital gluer plotters are the logical extension of our recent agreement to supply Elitron cutters. It now means we can offer a total solution, with print from EFI and Canon, cut with Elitron, and glue with F Service Automation.

“F Service Automation technology fits our criteria of robust, precision engineering, high productivity, ease-of-operation, all suited for the short-run market.”

F Service Automation has been producing gluer plotters for the past 20 years, and has some 250 machines installed around Europe and North America. Its CEO and founder, Francesco Sorbera, said, “We are delighted to partner with Currie Group. Our machines have proved popular in our existing markets, we known print businesses ‘down under’ will benefit from them, but we needed to know those print businesses would receive strong support, and we know with Currie they will be able to.”

There are currently three systems in the range; the Colibri 140, which handles sheets of up to 1450x850mm; the Colibri 200, which accommodates a 2000 x 1000mm sheet; and the Phoenix, which runs up to 2700 x 1750mm.

Mark Daws, director labels and packaging at Currie Group, said, “The new digital gluer plotters will mean print businesses in ANZ will be able to bring automated gluing in-house. We are delighted to be able to bring them to the local industry.”

The digital gluers will be available in Australia and New Zealand as soon as drupa finishes.
