McCauley has been with Spandex since 2016, and his new role starts tomorrow, 1 April.

Dave Neidell, vice-president, Spandex, Asia Pacific, said, “The local management team have worked together seamlessly over the past 12 months to successfully navigate one of the most difficult times in business history.

“I’m pleased to say that the business is well-positioned to expand and move forward thanks to the effort of all of our employees during this tough period.

‘’I am confident that Ben and the rest of the team will push our business above and beyond where we’ve taken it over the past four years.”

According to McCauley, his appointment in the new role shows real faith in the local management team and its performance in the region.

"We went through a significant rebuild under the direction of David Neidell, and the business is now really well positioned to move forward and build off all of that work," McCauley said.

"Spandex is known for the strength of its portfolio, the relationships it has with major brands, strong representation provided for the region, as well as its focus to put the customer at the centre of of our activities, and all of that will continue.

"The innovations that will come from Spandex will all be really customer-centric, taking care of the customer - whether it is via technology, our distribution methods, or investment we make within our business to support them."

As for what the future holds, McCauley says to expect it to continue to innovate and develop with the customer being front and centre.

"I think everyone is currently in the same situation post-Covid, and we are looking for a real strong return for business, and we are already showing strong sign of return in a lot of those areas," McCauley continues.

"We are one of the few distributors that is vertically integrated, with a factory based in England, and we are heavily invested in continuing to develop new products and technologies to bring into the market."
