ROLAND DG PRESENTED WITH PICK AWARD
Roland DG held a special presentation ceremony at PacPrint, receiving its 2025 BLI Pick Award from Keypoint Intelligence for its TrueVIS XP-640.
The wide-format printer received the award for Outstanding Gamut Expansion Eco-Solvent/Lates 54”/64” Printer.
The ceremony was officiated by Toru Tamauchi, director and head of APAC/Japan at Keypoint Intelligence, who presented the trophy to John Wall, managing director at Roland DG Australia.
After undergoing rigorous evaluation tests on image quality, productivity, usability, among other things, the TrueVIS XP-640 was considered the top in the category, among current tested products from a variety of manufacturers around the world.
Commenting on the evaluation tests, David Sweetnam, director of EMEA/APAC Research & Lab Services at Keypoint Intelligence, said the most impressive aspect of the XP-640 was its overwhelming image quality.
“In particular, the wide colour gamut and colour reproduction exceeded all other printers we have tested, setting a new standard in the graphic arts field, which has always demanded strict quality,” he said.
“The combination of CMYKLkOrGrRe inks delivers the largest colour gamut of any wide-format printers we have tested to date.
“The difference between high-quality and high-speed print modes is minimal, with a recorded average of 780,415 colours, which means it is capable of providing consistently high print quality even at high speed.”
The XP-640 was evaluated to produce what was said to be accurate and unparalleled colour matching reproduction during testing.
With Keypoint’s suite of PANTONE colour matching for 15 difficult-to-reproduce corporate logo colours, the device achieved an average of only Delta E00 2.1, which was said to be a “stunning result”.
“The XP-640 is the first device to achieve less than Delta E00 4.0 for all colours in Keypoint testing, and it also earned the highest ratings for light and dark contrasts, vivid colours, and smooth, natural gradations,” Sweetnam added.
Roland DG said the test results and BLI Pick Award further validated the XP-640 as an ideal printer for producing wide-format signs and graphics across various applications, while its easy-to-use operation, including setup functions that improve media loading accuracy and efficiency, further enhance the overall productivity.
“We are very honoured to receive the BLI Pick Award and proud that Keypoint’s rigorous testing has confirmed the XP-640’s ability to outperform other companies’ products,” said Ryugo Nimura, president of Roland DG’s Global Sales and Marketing Division.
“We will continue to contribute further to the evolution of the sign and graphic industry to expand the possibilities for customers’ creativity and business growth.”
The XP-640 also comes with the newly developed, Mac-compatible VersaWorks RIP software and the Roland DG Connect cloud-based platform.
