Signarama says it is promising to print the whitest whites, vivid colours at high speed, and striking contrast using pure blacks.

The printer is manufactured with 20 per cent of it having been 3D printed from ocean bound plastics.

“In a world of plastic that we live in, showing corporate responsibility and going with this specific machine, I believe is a step in the right direction to try and minimise the waste and bolster sustainability,” Melissa Marshall, director of Signarama Tuggerah, told Print21.

“That was a really big selling point for us, as we in the company all want to be more environmentally conscious and proactive in that space. Businesses that choose us can use the highest eco ratings on the planet with this printer."

Installation of the machine went with no issues, and once in place, it has been running smoothly for the print business.

“It has been really easy to use, user friendly. HP has really done a lot of tweeks with the machine, around the paper rolls, the cutter and the loading, and I find it ergonomic, and great for the staff to operate,” Marshall adds.

“I really want to grow the business to be known as the manufacturing hub on the Central Coast, wicho employs local apprentices and fosters careers.

“In terms of machines, moving forward I plan to get a flatbed cutter and a brand new laser machine, ultimately getting to the point where we can do all the jobs under the one roof.”

The HP Latex 800 W is a 1.63 wide printer that operates at 36sqm a hour. Its water-based inks mean no issues with solvents.
