Signart, a Brisbane-based signage company, has become one of the first in Australia to adopt the new compact, all-in-one HP Latex R530, in turn boosting its productivity, while scaling sustainably.
The HP Latex R530 is a high-performance rigid and flexible printer, and part of technology provider's latest Large Format Printing range designed to help Print Service Providers (PSPs) improve efficiency, expand capabilities, and grow more sustainably.
Signart is a case in point. Faced with rising demand and limited floor space, Signart needed a compact and efficient solution to reduce outsourcing and streamline production.
The R530’s hybrid capabilities have enabled the team to bring more work in-house, significantly cut turnaround times, and scale sustainably without compromising on the quality its clients expect.
“The R530’s one-person operation, white ink capabilities and hybrid media handling have transformed our workflow,” explained Harjeet Singh, production manager at Signart.
“It’s allowed us to bring previously outsourced jobs back in-house, speed up turnaround times, and take on larger, more complex projects with confidence.”
The ability to print directly to rigid substrates and use white ink has saved hours of manual work for Signart and significantly reduced waste, with one example given by Singh being backlit displays on acrylic sheets.
“We’re already seeing real returns, increased speed, standout results, and a growing client base that recognises the difference in our output,” Singh added.
“In addition, with our internal fabrication capabilities, the R530 prints directly to pre-painted aluminium panels. We then apply our own topcoat for this long-term outdoor signage application.
“Previously, we were using screen printed panels, now we print on demand with exceptional results with no limits to minimal orders.”
Compact, versatile and sustainable
The compact hybrid design of the HP Latex R530 allows a fast and easy switch between rigid and flexible applications, and delivers, consistent, high-quality vibrant colours and smooth gradients across multiple media types, thanks to HP Pixel Control technology.
Automatic recirculation and printhead cleaning, HP says, will enable businesses to bolster uptime and reduce maintenance costs, while single-phase power system enables effortless installation in constrained spaces.
The latest Latex printer is also said to lead the way in sustainable printing for HP. Direct-to-rigid printing reduces waste, while maintaining the recyclability of fibre-based media.
The device also integrates sustainable UL ECOLOGO-certified HP Latex Inks for a healthier workspace, returnable extended-life maintenance cartridges, and 25 per cent recycled plastic in the printer’s design to promote circularity.
According to HP, the Latex R350 offers a solution to small and medium PSPs struggling with rigid printing due to space constraints, high investment costs, and operational complexity, as well as larger outfits looking to elevate their offerings and execute short runs of both rigid and flexible media.
“The HP Latex R530 is designed for print businesses that want to do more with less space, less waste, and less operational friction. It brings powerful production capabilities into a compact footprint, making it ideal for small and medium PSPs looking to scale without compromise,” said Craig Hardman, ANZ country manager for Large Format Printing at HP.
“For growing businesses like Signart, the R530 opens the door to faster turnarounds, new applications, and greater control by enabling high-quality, in-house production of both rigid and flexible jobs.
“We’re proud to continue to support innovative Australian businesses that are embracing smarter, more sustainable ways of working and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in signage and display.”
Also, with the introduction of HP PrintOS Production Hub, PSPs now have access to one of the first large-format software solutions that combines order management and remote production control into a centralised, real-time platform – increasing efficiency and reducing operational complexity.
The HP Latex R530 is now available in Australia and New Zealand.
