Ovato, Greenridge and Wagner top stories of the week
The biggest story in ANZ print in the past seven days by far has been the Print21 report on Ovato seeking to restructure its business in light of falling sales. It elicited plenty of comment too, most of which we haven't been able to publish.
Ovato will present a 625 page document outlining the scheme to take the company forward to its members and creditors, with a vote due two weeks on Monday. The scheme includes closing Melbourne manufacturing, liquidating four companies with the loss of 300 jobs, asking suppliers for a 50 per cent discount on current invoices, and raising $40m from the financial market.
Coming in at number two in terms of clicks was the Print21 story on Sydney label outfit Wagner Prestige Labels taking out the world crown in the Durst global label awards for its Truce wine label, printed in four-colour on the Durst Tau digital label press, and finished with screen printing.
Third most clicked story of the week is our report on Greenridge Press and its latest acquisition, this time buying Brisbane POS, digital and offset outfit Ultra Print, with manufacturing set to move to Greenridge in Toowoomba.
