Top 7 Day Print Industry News Clicks
The biggest story on the Print21 news website this week was our report on the driver of the car that saw a four-tonne overhead sign collapse onto it deciding to sue the sign installer, as well as the roads operator. The story highlights the need for signage companies to ensure no details are overlooked.
The driver thankfully survived the collapse but is now suing sign contractor CPB for physical injury, psychological damage and post-traumatic stress. The sign collapsed because a stiffening plate was not installed on the gantry, and the subsequent inspection missed it.
The second biggest story in print this week was the Print21 report on print franchise groups being the best business-to-business franchises in the country. Kwik Kopy and Snap came in at number 1 and 2 in the annual franchise awards B2B category and were placed five and ten respectively in the overall rankings.
Coming in at number three this week was the news on the dates for next year's state-based PICAs, set for July, and print's night of nights, the National Print Awards, which will take place during PacPrint in September.
