Imports of newsprint have plummeted by 70 percent from this time last year, according to industry bible Pulp and Paper Edge. At the same time, exports have jumped by almost half. Newsprint imports totalled only 5348 tonnes for the March quarter of this year.

US giant Xerox has appointed John Visentin (pictured) as its new CEO after "terminating" a proposed $6.1 billion deal with Fujifilm Holdings. The Japanese company says it’s considering legal action over its failed takeover bid.

Employees will stop work for one day next Friday May 25 if Note Printing Australia (NPA) doesn't come back to the table, as part of a series of industrial actions following months of unsuccessful negotiation. The industrial action was approved by 97 percent of employees.
