Australasia’s leading printer PMP has blamed the collapse of retail chain Dick Smith and customers supplying their own paper for a 58.8 per cent drop in half year profit. PMP booked a $2.7 million impairment charge related to the money it’s owed by Dick Smith into its first half accounts.

Printing Industries has launched a search for its third CEO in eight months and is offering more than a quarter of a million dollars a year. The PIAA hired recruitment firm Investigo to find it’s next chief after the retirement of Bill Healey and the shock resignation of successor Jason Allen.
PIAA president Ross Black, appointed just a couple of weeks ago, has resigned days before a SGM called to address member dissatisfaction over the way the association is being run. Deputy Kieran May will step into the acting president role.
Departing Printing Industries CEO Jason Allen cleaned out his desk at PIAA headquarters at Chatswood in Sydney on Friday and will not be returning. Allen announced his shock resignation just before Christmas and had planned to leave at the end of March.
