Blue Star bolsters up with Chippendale customers
Chippendale Printing’s customer list moves into the hands of PE giant, Blue Star, and packaging business, Hannapak.
Blue Star group general manager, Chris Mitchell, (pictured), confirmed the situation to Print21 last week. “Blue Star has signed an exclusive agreement to provide print and related services to the customers of Chippendale,” he said. “We are immediately focused on ensuring continuity of service during this period of change for Chippendale’s customers.”
Sydney-based Chippendale Printing went into administration late last month after reports that it would merge with fellow Sydney company, Beaver Press.
Taylor Woodings is currently handling the administration of Chippendale. Administrators from the company did not return multiple calls from Print21, but issued a release which said: “Chippendale is working collaboratively with Blue Star to smoothly transition customer files, artwork and background information to ensure Chippendale’s customers receive ongoing supply through one of the region’s leading print companies.”
Family packaging company, Hannapak, has also gained for itself the packaging clients. The Richmond-based company recently installed the first manroland R700 press with inline foiler in Australia.
