GMG software and Roland printers unite

Premiere alliance announced as GMG ColorProof proofing software now fully supports the new Roland VersaUV LEC-540 and VersaCAMM VS printer/cutter series for packaging mock-up creation.

This alliance solution will be showcase for the first time in Australia the grand opening of Roland DG’s Creative Centres in Sydney and Melbourne on 1 July.

Garry Muratore, general manager for GMG Asia Pacific says the combination of its software with the Roland inkjet printers LEC 330, 540 and the VS Series open “agencies, repro houses, printers and brand owners in the packaging and label market to totally new applications for package prototyping and small lot production of labels.

“As the Roland printers work with a wide range of materials and substrates using CMYK, white and varnish our software can take advantage of that and produce proof quality prototype samples," he said.

Muratore says this first time GMG software has partnered with Roland printers in Australia, and it has been beta testing its software with Roland for the past five months.

GMG’s ColorProof software now fully supports these printers’ one-step Print & Cut operation for mock-ups, eliminating laborious manual work such as reloading and accurately repositioning the output in a separate cutter.

Conrad Birkett, market development manager for Roland Australia says it has always recognised GMG as one of the “premium colour management solution and workflow providers and are very excited to see this new release that fully supports our printing solutions.

“GMG have always been an exceptional partner of ours and we know that this update will bring many of the unique and time saving features and functions that our technology can perform to those in the professional proofing, packaging and short-run markets," said Birkett.

The GMG colour management software enables the VersaUV LEC-540 and the VersaCAMM VS series to achieve a visual match, locally and at remote locations, with print processes such as flexography, offset and gravure printing.
