VersaCAMM VS series wins best wide-format print and cut
Winning the best wide-format print and cut device for 2011 is Roland DG’s VersaCAMM VS series of metallic inkjet printer/cutters, named by the European Digital Press (EDP) Association.
Kevin Shigenoya, product-marketing executive officer for Roland DG says the EDP awards recognise the printing industry's most innovative technological achievements each year, “and we are proud that our VersaCAMM VS has taken top honors."
Available in 64-, 54-, 42- and 30-inch models the VS series is suitable for producing signs, banners, POP, labels, apparel decoration, vehicle graphics and wraps of all kinds.
According to Roland DG, its VS Series also come with its automated ink circulation system, which automatically reduces waste of white and metallic silver ink for lower running costs.
"The VersaCAMM VS integrates our most advanced digital printing technologies into an affordable, easy-to-use platform, transforming businesses everywhere with all the creative possibilities of award-winning Metallic Silver ECO-SOL MAXTM ink.”

Featuring Roland Print&Cut technology the VS series prints graphics, then automatically contour cuts them into virtually any shape in one seamless workflow.
John Wall, sales director at Roland DG Australia says it is very excited about the fact that the VS series has won the award, ever since the introduction of metallic ink in 2009 in the XC540mt.
“The metallic ink has quickly become a differentiator for sign and labels makers who are able to achieve pearlescent effects on the print images with an addition 512 colours attainable with metallic ink. The new print head technology allows the metallic ink to further be utilised to give stunning effects on images.
“The award exemplifies the dependability and technology behind the VS series range, and allows this new metallic ink technology to be available at a cost effective price,” said Wall.
The VersaCAMM VS series of metallic inkjet printer/cutters also includes VersaWorks RIP software, featuring Roland’s metallic colour and texture library.
The EDP was founded in 2006 and is made up of leading European magazine publishers and other experts dedicated to advancing the digital printing industry. The annual EDP awards program acknowledges the latest R&D achievements across the digital printing industry.
