Magnify Media makes room for more HP Scitex
Melbourne-based Magnify Media continues to enlarge with a second HP Scitex Turbojet 8500.
The installation comes on the back of the company purchasing a second HP Scitex FB7500 late last year. According to managing director, John Duplock, (pictured) the HP Scitex Turbojet stood out from the other brands available.
“When I first saw the Turbojet four years ago I thought it was one of the most amazing pieces of technology I had ever seen. And that’s still the case. The Turbojet is an out and out amazing unit. It is so self sufficient, it’s not funny. We’re very pleased we now have a second unit as there is no shortage of work for this machine,” he said.
“HP is aware of where these machines need to be speed-wise and price-wise. The HP inks are competitive and that means we can go up against the screenprint market and deliver a superior product faster and more competitively.”
Duplock said the market is now “well educated” to the benefits of digital screenprinting, the result of a concerted marketing campaign over the past three years by the company to demonstrate to its customers the versatility of this technology.
“Our customers are now only interested in digital print,” he said. “We focus on producing any large format point of sale work. That’s what we are after. You can look into other areas like doors, glass and tin, but they are all short run markets and we are chasing the volume work. Success is definitely in volume.”
