Pacific Magazines makes room for new lifestyle title
Pacific Magazines grows its portfolio with gardening and outdoor lifestyle title, The Outdoor Room.
Fronted by personality Jamie Durie and editor-in-chief, Wendy Moore, the new title will focus on all aspects of outdoor lifestyle: from furnishings, renovations and decorations, budget makeovers, garden projects, to pets and wildlife, travel, food and entertaining.
The Outdoor Room will be published on a minimum quarterly basis, priced under $10. The first edition, published in September this year, has a sales target of 40,000 copies. According to a spokesperson, information is not yet available regarding print runs.
Wendy Moore, who leads The Outdoor Room’s editorial team, in the capacity of editor-in-chief, sees a strong market for the magazine.
“The Outdoor Room speaks to a growing market of young, educated and wealthy Australian women who want positive, relevant inspiration about outdoor homemaking – with a unique editorial treatment and design which is modern, responsible and meaningful,” she said.
This is the second major launch for Pacific Magazines, which last year began publishing an Australian version of Prevention magazine. Rival publisher, ACP Magazines, last week announced that the current edition of men’s title, Ralph, would be the last in print before the title moves online.
