Ugra team grows in Australia
Three new Australian print staff receive UGRA certification.
Following two days of training and assessment from Erwin Widmer, head of the Swiss-based Ugra, Garry Knespal, executive officer of GASAA, Gavin Daniels of GR Daniels Technical Services and David D’Astoili, prepress manager at Focus Press have been given Ugra certification.
The three join Jason Hall, technical specialist and director of CMYKit, who gained UCE status in mid-2008.
According to Knespal, UGRA certification requires an independent audit, and a team of four UCEs will give the Australian print industry an independent team that can perform PSO audits and grant certification.
“GASAA is delighted to have a solid audit team ready to assist colour consultants and printers gain Ugra PSO, ‘the ultimate proof of proof and print,” Knespal said.
“David, Gavin and myself, along with Jason Hall, are qualified Ugra experts and can provide independent validation that firms are able to meet ISO 12647 – colour standards to Ugra PSO requirements.”
Knespal added that GASAA had locked in audit fees at $7,500 to help printers gain ISO colour certification and “can work with any consultant and firm keen to gain Ugra PSO.”
