Wide format print systems developer HP was highlighting its environmental credentials at PacPrint, with every printer on its stand using water-based inks, including the new hybrid R530.

Ricoh used PacPrint to highlight new innovations, the increasing number of applications it is developing systems for, and its drive to enable fibre-based print to replace plastic-based products.

The nation’s widely read and highly respected print business media, Print21, is evolving its leadership structure, with current editor Wayne Robinson to retire in July. Senior journalist Jan Arreza will step up to be the editor, with publisher Lindy Hughson becoming managing editor.

Forme supplier and cutter Martin O’Brien Formes has been placed into administration, and will be liquidated, as the company owes significant sums in unpaid tax and unpaid superannuation contributions.

Vistaprint will be one of the recipients of one of up to 20 new HP Indigo 18K or 120K digital presses ordered by parent company Cimpress, in a massive global deal with HP Indigo.
