The Lithographic Institute of Australia (LIA) has invited members and non-members to a site tour later this month of the Fairfax plant at North Richmond, one of the most modern newspaper and commercial print plants in Australia. The tour will include Prepress, Press and Post Press production areas.

Labelmakers will have Australia’s first manroland eight-colour Roland 700 Evolution sheetfed press with coater up and running in Melbourne later this year. "This technology needs to perform at a different level than previously required to adapt to the evolving Australasian market," said Paul O'Sullivan, MD, Labelmakers.

Roland DG Australia has donated a state-of-the-art Soljet Pro4 XR-640 printer cutter to the signage department at TAFE Illawarra. The XR-640 will be used in conjunction with the department’s VS-640 printer cutter that was donated by Roland DG five years ago.

Early adoptor Picton Press, the first printer in Australia to implement EFI PACE MIS, says the software is now crucial to its operation. “Pretty much nothing happens in the business now without EFI PACE being involved,” said data manager Brad Hall.
