Global packaging giant Coveris Holdings Corp has launched into the Australasian market with a NZ$30 million deal to acquire NZ packaging business Elldex. Chicago-based Coveris is the sixth largest global plastic packaging company in the world with total revenues close to US$3 billion.

The Printing Industries Association of Australia (PIAA) says a new energy efficiency initiative will save its members up to 20% on their power bills. PIAA members are provided with free quotes and no switching fee.

Although initial estimates forecast energy bill savings of about $1,051 annually for average SME printing company, early indicators are showing savings around $3,000.
